Back to School

School has started! We have 2 days behind us and 171 days ahead of us!

Our class has 21 students - 13 boys and 8 girls. The bathroom will prove to be very interesting this year. As a matter of fact, it already has! Yesterday the water in the boys bathroom was shooting straight out - so all 13 boys came out of the bathroom with their shirts soaked. Time for a lesson about not playing in the water - and if something isn't working right don't keep messing with it!!

I am excited about this year. The class seems to be a great group of kiddos!! Three weeks of JumpStart during June really did help!!! Our second day together was very productive - I do believe we completed almost everything I had planned!!!

Monday I plan to hit 'power teaching' hard. It is time to start the reward part of the program.
I guess I better refresh myself on 'power teaching' with a trip to the website! I'm off to do that right now!! Then I will enjoy the rest of my weekend!!

Summer Vacation

The summer is always filled with home projects. It seems like I put everything off for the 5-6 weeks I have off for the summer - painting, cleaning, organizing, decorating, yard work, etc.

Another thing I LOVE to do in the summer is spend time with my family and friends. So far this summer I have had my dad come visit; my son, Seth, & two grandsons, Colby and Carson come visit, and my best friend from high school, Tina, come visit. I am planning a trip up to visit Seth, Jessica, Colby & Carson next week.

Every summer holds a professional development opportunity. This summer I am heading up to the northwest part of the state for RtI (Response to Intervention) training.

Well, that is what the summer of 2009 is all about! That's it for now.
